These reasons do not exist in a vacuum. Meaning, there are many other reasons why I do not hold to the view of the godless. These are just ten powerful and succinct facts that add to the repertoire of my Theist psyche.

The Big Bang
Simply, the Big Bang implies a beginning, a creative act where matter appeared out of nothing and then stretched out perfectly across space. The Big Bang taking place about 15 Billion years ago, when the Atheist needed 100 or more billion, is a token to my Theist beliefs.
Incidentally, five different authors of the Old Testament claim that God created the universe out of nothing and then proceeded to “stretch out” the universe: Job 9:8; Psalm 104:2; Isaiah 40:22, 42:5, 44:24, 45:12, 48:13, 51:13; Jeremiah 10:12, 51:15; Zechariah 12:1.
Also: no other “holy book” claims that the Deity “stretched out” the universe. Only the Bible references the Big Bang.

The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics
It means that heat becomes cool. It means entropy, erosion. It means the universe is not eternal. It means that humans proved there was a beginning, and there will be an ending.
Except for Christians… we will be Raptured!

Life
This one is easy. A few weeks ago, Richard Dawkins (Atheist rock star) was on the Bill O’Reilly show. Bill asked him flat out if Dick Dawkins knew how life started. Dawkins said he did not know how life started.
Dawkins, a year ago, was featured in a movie called “Expelled” with Ben Stein. Dick Dawkins explained that life was brought to earth from outer space via meteors.
Very scientific…

The Cambrian Explosion
The refers to the dramatic appearance of complex animal life in the fossil record about 540 million years ago. Within a short period of time, anywhere from 50 to 80 percent of all animals to ever exist on Earth appeared. Instead of relatively simple organism originating at the beginning of the Cambrian and then evolving toward increased intricacy, complex animals appear suddenly.
This means there was no observable speciation.
This means there was no evolution from one complex creature to another.
As my favorite scientist has said: “Instead of observing a haphazard, loosely-woven ecology, as predicted by the evolutionary paradigm, the Cambrian fauna appear suddenly in the fossil record as a tight-knit ecological community, consistent with a Creation Model for the origin of complex multicellular animals.” ~ Dr. Hugh Ross.

DNA
Deoxyribonucleic Acid: an extremely long macromolecule that is the main component of chromosomes and is the material that transfers genetic characteristics in all life forms.
The DNA of the human race can trace that our mother is Eve (from the Bible) and that our father is Noah (from the Bible).

The Anthropic Principle
This states that the universe was fitted from the very first moment of its existence for the emergence of life in general and human life in particular. The universe appears to be fine tuned for the existence of life, and we have listed 150 finely tuned characteristics of the universe which support life. If any of these characteristics veered off a minute percentage, we would not be here.
A few:
if the rotation of the earth took longer than it did, life would not exist.
If gravitational force were altered by a fraction, the sun would not exist and the moon would crash into the earth.
If the universe was expanding at a rate one millionth more slowly than it is, the temperature on earth would be 10,000 degrees.
Etc. Etc. Etc.

Philosophy
This is the attempt to think rationally and critically about the most important questions. This is the pursuit of wisdom, knowledge and truth.
Of the many arguments in philosophy which prove a Creator, we will look at one:
The Argument from Motion:
.things do move. Motion is the most obvious form of change.
.change is a passing from potency to act (from potentiality to actuality).
.nothing passes from potency to act except by something that is in actuality, for it is impossible for a potentiality to actualize itself.
.there cannot be an infinite regress of actualizers or movers. If there is no First Mover, there can be no subsequent motion, since all subsequent motion depends on prior movers for its motion.
.therefore, there must be a first, Unmoved Mover; a pure actualizer with no potentiality in it that is unactualized.
.everyone understands this to be Jesus.

The Christian Bible
We have a well documented and accurate New Testament:
Classic works from antiquity are survived in only a handful of manuscripts:
10 copies survive of Julius Ceaser’s “Gallic War”.
20 copies survive of Livy’s “Roman History”.
2 copies of Tacitus’ “Annals”.
The most documented work of antiquity (secular) is Homer’s “Iliad”; we have 643 copies. Counting Greek copies alone, the New Testament is preserved in 5,686 partial and complete manuscript portions that were copied by hand from the first century through the fifteenth. With the Greek manuscripts we have early translations into Syriac, Coptic, Arabic and Latin that number 9,000 New Testament copies. So we have over 14,000 ancient hand written copies of the New Testament (portions or whole).
The age of our copies from the original autographs:
One mark of a fine manuscript is age in comparison to its original composition.
Most ancient texts survive in manuscripts that are 1000 years old in relation to its original autograph.
The “Odyssey” is rare in that we have a copy from 500 years after its original.
MOST OF THE NEW TESTAMENT EXISTS IN MANUSCRIPTS LESS THAN 200 YEARS FROM THE ORIGINALS.
In fact we have a fragment from the book of Mark (found in the Dead Sea Scrolls) that dates to 50 AD (which was during the lives of the Apostles).
AMAZING INFO =
Moses is the author of the book of Leviticus.
The Levitical Code contains tremendously strict health and public hygiene rules. It imposed quarantine for some diseases but not others, and showed how to tell if a disease is communicable. It also listed what could or could not be eaten (like pigs – an extremely unhealthy animal if not cooked correctly… and even if it is!).
So we know Moses grew up in Pharaoh’s court and was educated in Egypt’s finest universities, so of course he could author Leviticus… or could he?
This is a portion of the known Egyptian medical knowledge of the time:
Teething: find a mouse, fry it and have the baby chew on it.
Splinters: find a worm, cut it in half and squeeze its innards on the effected area.
Grey hair: apply the blood of a black cat that has been boiled in oil.
Baldness: apply the fat of a hippo, along with a tooth of a donkey that has been crushed in honey.
If this was the extant of Moses’ schooling, how could he have possibly had the intelligence and wisdom to write the medically advanced Levitical Code? (maybe space aliens told him…)

Jesus of Nazareth
I know, I know, Atheists don’t believe that Jesus existed.
We only have our Christian literature that was produced during the lives of the Apostles with a movement so large that they shook the ancient world with their witness and their documentation. I suppose all of the disciples risked and gave their lives for someone who never existed… and wrote extensively about a non-person…
We also have multiple non-Christian sources of the life of Jesus. They state:
– Jesus was from Nazareth
– He lived a wise and virtuous life.
– He was crucified in Palestine, under Pontius Pilate during the reign of Tiberius Caesar at Passover time, being considered the Jewish King.
– His disciples believed that He was raised from the dead three days after the Crucifixion.
– It was acknowledged that he performed feats considered “sorcery”.
– The small band of disciples multiplied rapidly all the way to Rome.
- His disciples denied the worship of many gods, lived lives or morality and worshiped Christ as Divine.
So we have Christian and non-Christian written accounts that Jesus existed. Oh, and we have an empty tomb…

Atheists!
I look at the lives of the humans who call themselves Atheists and I thank Jesus that I wasn’t so abused by life that I would give up my Faith and trust in my own frail, weak and wretched humanness. Atheists do not believe in God because they see themselves as gods… and act like the animals they believe themselves to be.
“Professing themselves to be wise they became fools.” Romans 1:22
