Do you know which minister has recorded the most decisions for Christ within their lifetime?
Is it Luis Palau (www.palau.org), with over one million decisions for Christ?
Is it Billy Graham (www.BillyGraham.org), with over two million decisions for Christ?
Well, how about the gentleman whom God has used for the fully documented 60 million decisions his ministry has recorded for Christ?
60 million decisions for Christ.
You have never heard of him (more than likely), and he couldn’t care less about that.
His name is Reinhard Bonnke, a German evangelist called to Africa, who has been evangelizing for over 40 years… with the last nine years comprising 50 of the 60 million decisions.
Praise God.
The son of a Pastor, Evangelist Reihard Bonnke gave his life to Christ at the age of nine. After attending Bible College in Wales, he Pastored a church in Germany for seven years and then went on to start mission work in Africa.
God gave him a vision for the continent to be awash in the Blood of Christ.
He began with a tent that could hold 800 people. Then in 1984 he had the world’s largest mobile structure built: a structure that could hold 34,000 people (it was as large as three football fields).
When his tent became inadequate, he simply had open-air meetings which drew upwards of 150,000 people.
His largest single meeting gathered 1.6 million people to hear the Gospel message of Christ.
He understands that he is only an Evangelist, so his ministry (“Christ for all Nations”, www.cfan.org) intently works with local churches giving them the information from the decision cards which are produced from his crusades. For the meeting which gathered 1.6 million, his ministry coordinated with local churches to have 200,000 counselors.
He is highly organized and only counts written, legible, decision cards.
When he was recently asked “Why do you think God chose and anointed you?”, he responded:
“I wish I knew. But as you know, God is not obliged to explain His choices, and I leave it at that. I have no idea because I don’t feel especially qualified. I am fiercely determined to preach the ABC’s of the Gospel and to push forward relentlessly.
“I’m not a special man, and I know that. I invite many other ministers to all crusades, and they watch everything. I don’t want them to watch me so that they can see what a great man of God I am. I don’t care two hoots. But I want them to be there so that they can see their own possibilities in God. I want other men to say, ‘If God can use a donkey He can use me ten times over so that the harvest will be brought in.’ Jesus didn’t die to provide careers for us. He died for the lost to be saved.”
I tell you what, those numbers are crazy.
