Here is some scientifically proven and validated info that corresponds with the book of Genesis. But, hey, of course it does! We as believers understand that the Scriptures are inspired by God, so it stands to reason that those Scriptures are accurate in every way… be it science, history or even botany.

ONE QUICK NOTE!!!
I understand that there is an in-house debate among Christians as to the age of the Universe. There are Young-earth and Old-earth Creationists; and yes, you can be a Christian and not believe in Evolution and still believe in an ancient universe… Old-earth Creationists merely believe that the creation week spanned long time periods and not just 7, 24 hour days. And, again, they are NOT Evolutionists!

Now, this info is a bit “scientific” but bare with it. It is extremely relevant and can easily be shared at school or the water cooler at work:
By measuring mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and the Y-chromosome segment (Y-DNA) in different groups of people, over various cultures, geneticists can test whether humans descended from many or just a few individuals.
The majority of these two segments of human genetic material do not “mix up” during reproduction. Individuals (men and women) get nearly all of their mtDNA from their mothers. Only men carry Y-DNA. So, the only way someone’s mtDNA can be different from their mother’s is if that person experiences an mtDNA mutation. And, the only way a man’s Y-DNA can be different from his father’s is through a Y-DNA mutation.
By measuring DNA differences over many generations from different families, geneticists can measure the rates of mutation within the mtDNA and Y-DNA. These rates allow them to determine the dates back to the most recent male and female ancestors for all of humanity.
(by the way, science has only been able to perform these measurements within the last ten years!)
These dates are about 40,000 years ago for the most recent male ancestor (Noah) and about 50,000 years ago for the most recent female ancestor (Eve).
So these studies place the “first woman” a few thousand years before the “first man”.
This difference is consistent with the biblical record (which was written about four thousand years ago), since the four men on Noah’s ark (Noah and his sons) would carry Y-DNA from the one man, Noah, whereas the four women, not being related, have mtDNA extending further back in time all the way to Eve.
Oh, yes this is outstanding info!
The DNA within our bodies points to common ancestors. Of course it would certainly lead to one female (Eve) but to lead to a common male “father” who existed many thousands of years after the first female? For this to occur there would have to be a special occurrence in history where the only men left living were a group of brothers (and it MUST be brothers) and they mated with a group of women who where not related to each other.
The only historical record that explains how this could have happened is located on your nightstand.
Read more about this in “A Matter of Days” by Hugh Ross.

P.S.
If you happen to be a Young-earth Creationist, this science still stands. What you may have to do is adjust the amount of years to correspond with the “Young-earth” philosophy.
P.P.S.
A few post-moderns are attempting to explain that perhaps a certain conqueror of antiquity could fulfill the male requirement (perhaps Genghis Kahn)… but they are still looking… as they are continuing to look for Bigfoot and the Missing Link!
